Arnold Aaron Friedman — American, 1874–1946 — American Modernism
Arnold Friedman was an American modernist who painted on weekends and evenings while working as a postal clerk in New York for over four decades. He studied briefly with Robert Henri at the New York School of Art around 1905 but developed independently, absorbing Post-Impressionist and early modernist currents and translating them into densely worked landscapes, still lifes, and figure compositions.
