Władysław Czachorski — Polish, 1850–1911 — Academic Realism, Munich School
Czachorski trained at the Warsaw Drawing Class before moving to Dresden and then to the Munich Academy, where he studied under Karl von Piloty and later joined the faculty. He became one of the central Polish figures of the Munich School, a circle of Eastern European painters who absorbed the German academy's polished realism and historical subject matter.
