Elin Kleopatra Danielson Gambogi — Finnish, 1861–1919 — Finnish Realism
Elin Danielson-Gambogi was among the first generation of professionally trained Finnish women painters, working in a realist idiom shaped by her studies at the Finnish Art Society's drawing school in Helsinki and later in Paris in the 1880s. She is best known for portraits, interiors, and quiet domestic scenes that observe women in moments of solitude or reflection, often with a directness that distinguished her from more sentimental contemporaries.
