Henri Le Fauconnier — French, 1881–1946 — Cubism
Henri Le Fauconnier was among the early adherents of Cubism, exhibiting alongside Albert Gleizes, Jean Metzinger, Fernand Léger, and Robert Delaunay in the contentious Salon des Indépendants of 1911 — the show that introduced Cubism to a wider public. His painting L'Abondance, completed the previous year, became a touchstone of the group's early theoretical ambitions, attempting to reconcile monumental figuration with faceted, analytical form.
