Christopher Nevinson — British, 1889–1946 — British Futurism / Vorticism
Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson was among the most prominent British avant-garde painters of the early twentieth century, briefly the country's leading Futurist and a defining visual chronicler of the First World War. Trained at the Slade School alongside Mark Gertler and Stanley Spencer, he aligned with Marinetti in 1914 and co-authored the manifesto Vital English Art before breaking with the movement.
