Frederick Carl Frieseke — American, 1874–1939 — American Impressionism
Frederick Carl Frieseke was among the most prominent American Impressionists associated with the expatriate colony at Giverny, where he lived for much of his career beginning in 1906. Born in Owosso, Michigan, he trained at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League before settling in France, where he remained until his death.
