Raoul Dufy — French, 1877–1953 — French Fauvism
Raoul Dufy was a French painter associated with Fauvism, though his mature style departed from the movement's intensity into a lighter, more decorative idiom of his own. Born in Le Havre, he trained alongside Othon Friesz and was briefly transformed by encountering Matisse's work in 1905.
