Winter In Akerselven
Fritz Thaulow — Norwegian, 1847–1906 — Norwegian Impressionism
Fritz Thaulow was a Norwegian landscape painter best known for his depictions of moving water — rivers, mill streams, and snow-fed currents rendered with a fluency that earned him an international reputation in his own lifetime. Trained in Copenhagen and Karlsruhe, he absorbed the plein-air discipline of the Skagen circle before settling for long stretches in France, where he exhibited at the Paris Salon and mingled with the Impressionists.
