Fritz Zuber Buhler — Swiss, 1822–1896 — Academic Romanticism
Fritz Zuber-Bühler was a Swiss painter who spent most of his working life in Paris, where he became a regular contributor to the Salon from the mid-nineteenth century onward. He trained at the École des Beaux-Arts under François-Édouard Picot and worked within the academic tradition, specializing in idealized figure subjects: young women, children, and allegorical or pastoral scenes rendered with smooth finish and careful modeling.
