Arthur Wardle — British, 1864–1949 — Late Victorian and Edwardian animal painting
Arthur Wardle was a London-born painter who specialized in animal subjects, working across oil, pastel, and watercolor over a career of more than six decades. Largely self-taught, he exhibited at the Royal Academy from the age of sixteen and continued showing there into the 1930s.
