Maximilien Luce — French, 1858–1941 — French Neo-Impressionism
Maximilien Luce was a French painter and printmaker associated with the Neo-Impressionist circle that formed around Georges Seurat and Paul Signac in the 1880s. Trained as a wood engraver before turning to painting, Luce adopted divisionist technique while retaining a working-class subject matter distinct from his peers.
