Joseph Rodefer Decamp — American, 1858–1923 — American Impressionism / The Ten
Joseph Rodefer DeCamp was a Boston School painter best known for refined figure compositions and portraits that combined Impressionist light with the disciplined draftsmanship of his Munich training. Born in Cincinnati, he studied under Frank Duveneck and later at the Royal Academy in Munich before settling in Boston, where he taught for decades at the Massachusetts Normal Art School and the Museum of Fine Arts School.
