The Return Of Rip Van Winkle John Quidor
John Quidor — American, 1801–1881 — American Romanticism
John Quidor was an American painter known for literary genre scenes drawn primarily from the writings of Washington Irving and James Fenimore Cooper. Working largely outside the mainstream of nineteenth-century American art, he developed a distinctive style marked by elongated, caricatured figures, theatrical gesture, and warm, smoky palettes built up in glazes reminiscent of older European masters.
