Frederik Hendrik Kaemmerer was a Dutch painter who built his career in Paris, where he settled in 1865 and studied under Jean-Léon Gérôme. Initially trained at the Hague Academy under Salomon Verveer, he began with Dutch beach scenes before adopting the polished, elegant manner favored by the Parisian Salon market.
