Jack Wilkinson Smith — American, 1873–1949 — California Plein Air / American Impressionism
Jack Wilkinson Smith was an American landscape and marine painter associated with the California plein air tradition of the early twentieth century. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, he trained at the Art Academy of Cincinnati before working as a newspaper sketch artist, including assignments covering the Spanish-American War.
