Charles Zacherie Landelle was a French academic painter who built his reputation on religious subjects, society portraits, and Orientalist figure studies. A student of Paul Delaroche and Ary Scheffer, he debuted at the Salon in 1841 and exhibited there for over six decades, receiving a first-class medal in 1855.
