Cesare Augusto Detti was an Italian painter known for finely detailed historical genre scenes, particularly cavalier subjects, wedding processions, and aristocratic episodes set in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Born in Spoleto, he trained at the Accademia di San Luca in Rome under Francesco Podesti before settling in Paris around 1875, where he spent most of his working life.
