Leonardo Da Vinci — Italian, 1452–1519 — Italian High Renaissance
Leonardo da Vinci stands among the central figures of the Italian Renaissance, a painter whose surviving output is small but whose influence on Western art is foundational. Trained in Florence in the workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio, he worked across Florence, Milan, Rome, and ultimately France under the patronage of Francis I.
