Henri Le Sidaner was a French painter associated with the Intimist current that emerged from late Impressionism, working in a register adjacent to but distinct from Bonnard and Vuillard. Born on Mauritius and trained in Paris under Cabanel, he settled in 1901 in the medieval village of Gerberoy, which became the principal subject of his mature work.
