Henry Salem Hubbell — American, 1870–1949 — American Impressionism
Henry Salem Hubbell was an American painter known principally for portraits and figurative interiors that combined academic training with Impressionist light and color. Born in Paola, Kansas, he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago before continuing his training in Paris, where he worked under James McNeill Whistler and at the Académie Colarossi.
