Benjamin Chambers Brown — American, 1865–1942 — California Impressionism
Benjamin Chambers Brown was a leading figure in the California Impressionist movement, known for plein air landscapes that recorded the light, terrain, and seasonal flora of Southern California. Born in Marion, Arkansas, he trained at the Saint Louis School of Fine Arts and later at the Académie Julian in Paris before settling in Pasadena around 1896.
