Sunset Herblay Opus

Paul Signac — French, 1863–1935 — Neo-Impressionism

Paul Signac was, with Georges Seurat, the principal exponent of Neo-Impressionism and the chief theorist of its later development. After meeting Seurat in 1884, he adopted the divisionist method of building images from discrete touches of pure color, applying it most often to harbor scenes and coastal landscapes from Collioure to Saint-Tropez, where he settled in 1892.
