Franz Bischoff — Austrian-American, 1864–1929 — California Impressionism
Franz Bischoff trained in Vienna as a porcelain painter before emigrating to the United States in 1885, working in New York and the Midwest as one of the country's leading ceramic decorators. He earned the informal title 'King of the Rose Painters' for his floral porcelains.
