George Turner — British, 1843–1910 — English Pastoral Landscape
George Turner was a Derbyshire landscape painter often called 'the John Constable of the Midlands' for his attentive renderings of the English countryside. Working primarily in the Trent valley and around his home at Barrow-on-Trent, he painted farmsteads, rural lanes, harvest fields, and quiet river scenes under the shifting light of the Midlands sky.
