Bohumil Kubista — Czech, 1884–1918 — Czech Cubism, Expressionism
Bohumil Kubišta was a central figure in the early Czech avant-garde and a founding member of the group Osma (The Eight), formed in Prague in 1907. Trained at the Prague Academy and further shaped by travels to Florence and Paris, he absorbed Cézanne, Cubism, and Munch-inflected Expressionism, synthesizing them into a disciplined, geometrically structured style distinct from Parisian Cubism.
