Jacob Van Ruisdae — Dutch, 1628/29–1682 — Dutch Golden Age landscape
Jacob van Ruisdael is widely regarded as the foremost landscape painter of the Dutch Golden Age. Born in Haarlem to a family of artists, he was the nephew and likely pupil of Salomon van Ruysdael. He worked in Haarlem before settling in Amsterdam around 1656, producing paintings, etchings, and drawings across a roughly forty-year career.
