Rogier Van Der Weyden — Flemish, 1399/1400–1464 — Early Netherlandish

Rogier van der Weyden was, alongside Jan van Eyck, the defining painter of the Early Netherlandish school and the most influential northern artist of the fifteenth century. Trained in Tournai, likely in the workshop of Robert Campin, he settled in Brussels by 1435, where he served as the city's official painter.
