Dennis Miller Bunker — American, 1861–1890 — American Impressionism
Dennis Miller Bunker was a New York–born painter whose brief career bridged the academic tradition of late nineteenth-century American art and the emerging Impressionist sensibility. He trained at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League before continuing his studies in Paris under Jean-Léon Gérôme, where he absorbed the rigorous draftsmanship of the École des Beaux-Arts.
