Jacopo Barbari — Italian, c. 1460/70–before 1516 — Italian Renaissance / Northern Crossover
Jacopo de' Barbari was a Venetian painter and printmaker whose career bridged Italian Renaissance practice and the courts of Northern Europe. He is best known for the monumental woodcut View of Venice of 1500, a six-block bird's-eye plan commissioned by the German merchant Anton Kolb that remains a landmark of early cartographic printmaking.
