Thomas Edwin Mostyn was a Manchester-born painter known for atmospheric, softly lit landscapes and garden scenes that drift between observation and reverie. Trained at the Manchester School of Art, he exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon from the 1890s onward, and was elected to the Royal Cambrian Academy.
