Vincent Van Gogh — Dutch, 1853–1890 — Post-Impressionism
Vincent van Gogh stands among the most consequential figures in Western painting, though his recognition came almost entirely after his death. Working primarily in the Netherlands and France during the 1880s, he produced roughly 2,100 works in barely a decade, including some 860 oil paintings concentrated in the final two years of his life.
