Joseph Decamp — American, 1858–1923 — American Impressionism / Boston School
Joseph DeCamp was a founding member of The Ten, the group of American Impressionists who broke from the Society of American Artists in 1897 to exhibit independently. Trained in Munich under Frank Duveneck and later in the academic tradition, he settled in Boston, where he taught for decades at the Massachusetts Normal Art School and the Museum of Fine Arts School.
