Philip R. Goodwin was an American illustrator and painter known for outdoor and sporting subjects, particularly hunting, fishing, and frontier scenes. Trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Art Students League, and under Howard Pyle at the Drexel Institute, he developed a precise, narrative style suited to magazine and book illustration.
