Constantin Alexeevich Korovin — Russian, 1861–1939 — Russian Impressionism
Konstantin Korovin was among the first Russian painters to absorb the lessons of French Impressionism and translate them into a distinctly Russian idiom. Trained at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under Alexei Savrasov and Vasily Polenov, he became closely associated with Savva Mamontov's Abramtsevo circle, where he produced influential stage designs for the private opera.
