Alexei Stepanov was a Russian painter associated with the Peredvizhniki, the Society of Itinerant Art Exhibitions, and a member of the Union of Russian Artists. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, where he later taught animal painting for many years, training a generation of Russian artists.
