Charles Francois Daubigny — French, 1817–1878 — Barbizon School

Charles-François Daubigny was a French landscape painter central to the Barbizon School and an important transitional figure between naturalism and Impressionism. Trained initially in his father's studio and through restoration work at the Louvre, he became known for river scenes painted along the Oise and Seine, often working from a converted studio-boat called Le Botin.
