Charles Partridge Adams — American, 1858–1942 — American Tonalism / Rocky Mountain School
Charles Partridge Adams was a self-taught American landscape painter whose career was shaped almost entirely by the Colorado Rockies. Settling in Denver as a young man in the 1870s, he worked initially in a stationery and art store before establishing himself as the most widely collected painter of Colorado scenery of his generation.
