Grace G Drayton — American, 1877–1936 — American Illustration / Golden Age
Grace Gebbie Drayton was a Philadelphia-born illustrator best known for creating the Campbell Soup Kids, the round-cheeked children who debuted in advertising for the Campbell Soup Company in 1904 and became one of the most recognizable commercial images of the early twentieth century. Drayton's signature style—plump, button-nosed children rendered with soft outlines and rosy coloring—appeared widely in newspaper comic strips, paper dolls, postcards, and magazine illustration.
