Alburtius Del Orient Browere — American, 1814–1887 — Hudson River School
Alburtius Del Orient Browere was an American painter associated with the Hudson River School milieu, known primarily for genre scenes and historical subjects rather than the pure landscape work of his contemporaries. The son of playwright and sculptor John Browere, he worked in Catskill, New York, and traveled to California during the Gold Rush, producing paintings that documented mining camps and frontier life.
