Carnival At Night In Croisic
Ferdinand Du Puigaudeau — French, 1864–1930 — Post-Impressionism
Ferdinand du Puigaudeau was a French Post-Impressionist painter associated with the Pont-Aven circle, though he remained on its periphery and developed an independent path. Largely self-taught, he traveled in Italy and Tunisia before settling in Brittany, where he painted the coastal villages, festivals, and nocturnes that define his output. He is best known for his depictions of Breton fairs, fireworks, and lantern-lit processions, in which artificial light dissolves form into pools of color.
