Edward Borein — American, 1872–1945 — Western American Art
Edward Borein was a California-born artist whose etchings, watercolors, and pen-and-ink drawings documented the vanishing world of the American West. He worked as a working cowboy in his youth, riding ranches across California, Nevada, and Mexico, and that firsthand experience grounded his depictions of vaqueros, cavalry, Plains Indians, and cattle work with an accuracy uncommon in Western imagery of the period.
