Irving Ramsey Wiles — American, 1861–1948 — American Impressionism
Irving Ramsey Wiles was an American painter known for portraits, figure studies, and coastal scenes executed with a fluent, painterly touch. The son of landscape painter Lemuel Maynard Wiles, he trained at the Art Students League in New York under William Merritt Chase and J. Carroll Beckwith, and continued his studies in Paris with Carolus-Duran.
