Olga Boznanska was a Polish painter known principally for portraits distinguished by muted tonalities, soft contours, and an introspective psychological presence. Born in Kraków, she trained in Munich during the late 1880s and spent most of her working life in Paris, where she settled in 1898 and remained until her death.
