Albert Lebourg — French, 1849–1928 — French Impressionism
Albert Lebourg was a French landscape painter associated with the second wave of Impressionism. Trained in Rouen and later in Paris, he spent formative years teaching drawing in Algiers, where the North African light shaped his attention to atmosphere and tonal subtlety. Returning to France, he settled into a long career devoted almost exclusively to landscape, particularly the rivers and quaysides of Normandy, the Seine around Paris, and the Auvergne.
