John White Abbott — British, 1763–1851 — British Topographical Watercolour
John White Abbott was an English amateur landscape artist who worked primarily in pen and ink with watercolour washes. A surgeon and apothecary by profession, based in Exeter, he painted in his leisure hours and rarely exhibited, though he showed occasionally at the Royal Academy between 1793 and 1822 as an honorary exhibitor.
