Edmund Leighton — British, 1852–1922 — British Romantic Academic
Edmund Blair Leighton was a London-born painter associated with the late Victorian and Edwardian academic tradition, working in the wake of the Pre-Raphaelites without belonging to their circle. The son of artist Charles Blair Leighton, he trained at the Royal Academy Schools and exhibited there regularly from 1878 until shortly before his death.
